An X Factor hopeful kicked out by show bosses faces five years in jail for assault.
Newcastle foursome Quantro had originally impressed the judges at auditions in the city earlier this year.
But when bosses found out one member was due in court on charges relating to a nightclub ‘glassing’, the band were booted out of the competition.
The group's Lucie Slater pleaded guilty this week to attacking her ex-boyfriend with a glass, and faces a maximum sentence of up to five years in jail.
Speaking at bootcamp earlier this year, band member Hannah explained: “We got amazing comments from the judges and we are just heartbroken.
“We have worked so hard to get to where we were. We can’t thank people enough for the support we’ve been given and that’s why the band is going to carry on.”
And Hannah insisted that the group would continue.
She said: “We’d like to thank everybody so so much from the bottom of our hearts for the support everyone gave us.
“It meant everything and we will strive to continue what we love. Keep your dreams alive.”
A spokesperson for The X Factor at the time commented that the group were not allowed to continue as a trio, but were welcome to try out again next year.
