X Factor's Louis Walsh has begged Simon Cowell to return to the show and save the ratings!
2012 chiefs after ratings dived to their lowest level in years.
The show's viewing figures have been nothing short of a disaster this year, consistently losing out to its BBC One arch rival Strictly Come Dancing.
Last Saturday's number ones-themed show plunged even further, experiencing the lowest ratings since the first series in 2004 - and giving Strictly a whopping lead of 2.4million viewers.
It was claimed yesterday that Simon has called crisis meetings over the falling ratings, which threaten to cause the show to be axed next year.
Louis, the only judge to have appeared on the show every series, reckons bringing back Simon Cowell is the answer.
“If Simon did come back, he’d have the number one show," Louis told The Sun today. “That’s the thing about Simon — he always wants to be number one."
The Irish music mogul added: “We need him in the building, he’s always fun, he keeps everybody on their toes. I wish he’d come back.”

The X Factor continues with its live shows this weekend with a Best Of British theme.
Sunday's results show will feature performances from One Direction and Little Mix, as well as one more act being given the boot.
