X Factor 2012: Kye Sones wants Jahmene Douglas to win

Kye Sones has backed Jahmene Douglas to win The X Factor 2012.

Kye Sones became the latest star to leave the show in tonight's X Factor 2012 results, after appearing in the bottom two for the second time with Rylan Clark.

The judges once again sent the vote to deadlock, with Kye leaving having received the fewest public votes.

Speaking on the Xtra Factor after his exit, Kye said: "I'm gutted because I made so many good friends here but I've had a wicked time so I can't complain.

"I've got really close to everyone, Ella Henderson is my little sister and George Shelley from Union J is my little brother."

Asked whether he would have done anything differently, Kye told the ITV2 spin off show: "I would have liked to be able to do my own songs but I've enjoyed doing the songs that I've done. I would have liked to have showcased my own music, but that's what I'll do now."

And Kye confessed: "I am surprised Chris is he last over because I think the Overs this year have been the best Overs they've ever had. I'm not going to lie, I'm surprised, Melanie was an amazing sinegr, Caroline was brilliant."

Asked who he wanted to win, Kye told Xtra Factor's Olly Murs and Caroline Flack: "I would love Jahmene to win just because of where's he come form and he's the most amazing singer. I love Ella and James too, those are my final three."

Kye added: "I came on this show to get a platform and I feel like I've got that now. I've showcased my voice."

The X Factor continues with its live shows next weekend with a Best Of British theme.

Sunday's results show will feature performances from One Direction and Little Mix, as well as one more act being given the boot.
