X Factor star Jahmene Douglas has confessed that he's close to collapse working on the show.
The 21-year-old once again wowed the judges last night, taking on Beyonce's hit Listen for this weekend's Number Ones theme.
But those brilliant performances take a lot of time, with Jahmene revealing: “We’re working on the show every single day. It really is nonstop and it’s exhausting. Sometimes I think I’m going to collapse.
“It’s emotionally draining as well, so when you put that with exhaustion it gets tiring."
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday today, Jahmene continued: “It’s all really overwhelming. People don’t realise how much pressure you’re under.
“It brings every emotion to the surface.
“I don’t usually cry like I have on X Factor. I’m normally a strong person, so I’m trying to enjoy it.”
The singer is unlikely to ever be returning to his job at Asdas, but admitted he wouldn't have a problem going back to the shop floor if things didn't work out.
He said: “Being in Asda feels like five years ago now. It’s a whole other world. But if things don’t work out with the singing I’ll have to go back.”
The X Factor continues with its live shows this evening, which will feature performances from Rita Ora and No Doubt, as well as one more act being given the boot.
