X Factor star Rylan Clark is planning a serious performance this weekend.
Speaking at the weekend on Xtra Factor, Rylan said: "It’s risky to tone it down but I really think I need to do that, and hopefully the people out there that aren’t too keen on me will see I’m not so bad.”
Rylan’s mentor [tag]Nicole Scherzinger[/tag] gave the 23-year-old her backing on the spin-off show.
The former Pussycat Doll told Xtra hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack: “I have to stand by him, I have got to support him, I’ve go to figure something out.
“I’m afraid if we don’t do something people are going to say he chickened out. I think his fans love him and if he sings a ballad, they’re going to support him.”
Speaking about his plans at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Of The Year Awards last night, Rylan revealed: "I want to bring a serious side of the songs to the table. I've been asking fans on Twitter and it's looking like they want me to be just me.
"I'm going to be a mannequin and it's going to be a smashing performance.
"I don't reckon I can win in the slightest. If I were to win this society would sink under water - but weirder things have happened."
He added: "I'm going to try my hardest though."
