X Factor 2012: Lucy Spraggan still ill! Will she be eliminated?

Lucy Spraggan (X Factor 2012)

X Factor star Lucy Spraggan is still ill and trying to get better for Saturday's latest live show, it's been revealed.

Lucy was too ill to perform on last weekend's Halloween special, and given a free pass into the next round.

But it wasn't a decision that was taken kindly by everyone, with many fans and even contestants complaining.

Jade Ellis, who became the latest singer to leave the show on Sunday’s latest results, was ill last weekend, and admitted she still wasn’t “100%” when performing on Saturday.

“I haven’t seen how ill Lucy is but for her to be pulled from the show it must be serious. I never had any intention of missing the show,” Jade said.

She told Yahoo OMG: “Even if my leg was falling off I would have hopped onto stage either way!”

Former X Factor 2012 finalists MK1 also hit out at Lucy Spraggan’s free pass into the next round.

Speaking to STV, MK1′s Charlie and Sim said: “I think in terms of away from Lucy Spraggan, away from it being Lucy, I don’t think it’s right for someone to not perform and not to be in the elimination process.

“I think if you’re not going to perform your fans will still vote for you anyway. I just feel it’s a bit… I don’t know what the word is. But it’s a bit ‘not right’ to bypass the elimination section. I think if you’re not going to perform you should still be up for elimination and hopefully your fans will still vote for you.”

Lucy hasn't been seen with the finalists all week as they attend glam events including the Cosmo awards, instead she's stuck in the hotel room trying to get better.

A family member said: "She's doing her best to get better for Saturday."

But it seems like the damage is already done, with William Hill cutting Lucy's odds of being eliminated this week to 5/1, behind only Kye Sones and Rylan Clark.

The latest results show follows on Sunday evening, which will feature performances from Rita Ora and No Doubt, as well as one more act being given the boot.
