X Factor's Kye Sones has defended Rylan Clark, describing the wacky singer as "brilliant".
Speaking to DigitalSpy, Kye backed the 24-year-old from Essex, despite hate from some viewers.
He said: "I met Rylan on my very first audition and then he was at my next audition. So I've known him for a while. I think he's brilliant.
"He's an intelligent guy; you can actually have a conversation with him. He's really sharp, really witty and really quick, so we have a good laugh.
"It's like a battle of wits with each other. He's good."
Meanwhile, Kye revealed he had a brilliant time celebrating Rylan's birthday last week.
He told the official ITV1 X Factor website yesterday: "Rylan’s party was wicked. I was the last to go back to the hotel. I always think it’s a good sign when you’re the last to leave the party. Sadly, I didn’t drink due to being on antibiotics for my man-flu!"
