X Factor 2012 star James Arthur has said he wants to perform his own songs on the show.
The singer wowed the judges once again at the weekend, with a performance of Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics.
It was enough to not only keep James in the competition, but also see him challenge for the top spot alongside favourite Ella Henderson.
But James confessed he wasn't too happy wit how it went.
"Those grim reapers/monks were really creepy! I loved how production went to town with the set. There was a really dark and sombre atmosphere on stage," he said today. "I was a bit disappointed with my last chorus. I thought I could’ve done better. The adrenaline kicked in and I lost control of my vocals."
Speaking to the official X Factor ITV1 website, James revealed he was hoping that mentor Nicole would let him sing one of his self-penned tracks.
He said: "I’d love to perform one of my own songs at some point on the show. If I’m still here in a few weeks’ time, I’ll hopefully be able to hit people up with some of my own material."
Meanwhile, James confessed to having a bit of crush on his mentor, but who doesn't?
"Nicole always looks phenomenal but she looked better than ever on Saturday night. It was very distracting though," he told the website. "Maybe that is why I almost stumbled on the last verse!"
James added: "Who doesn’t have a crush on Nicole? Although, she is my mentor and I am respectful of her relationship with Lewis Hamilton."
