Chris Maloney was the worst singer on the X Factor at the weekend, experts have claimed.
63336, the UK’s most accurate text question and answer service, has crunched the X Factor to find the most out-of-tune contestant. Using a team of researchers the service analysed the performances on Saturday night to work out the act that hit the most bum notes.
Despite Rylan’s castigation from Judge Gary Barlow, he wasn’t the worst performer, hitting 8 flat notes. In fact it was Gary’s own act, Christopher Maloney, at top of the flops – hitting 10 bum notes during his performance of (I just) died in your arms by 80s band Cutting Crew.
It's perhaps no surprise that 63336's perfect pitch researchers found that Ella was easily the strongest act – hitting just 2 flat notes, all the while singing high notes in C (above middle C).
“Each week everyone likes to debate if the judges got it right or wrong with little real analysis of the performances,” explains Helen Wright, General Manager, 63336. “63336 used dedicated researchers to analyse each act and found that Christopher Maloney really struggled the most this week, missing notes in both the high and low registers.
"He was surprisingly even more out of tune than Rylan, whom many people discount as the show’s weakest singer. In reality Rylan sang fairly well in tune, hitting the same number of flat notes as both Kye and even show favourite Jahmene.”

The latest results show follows on Sunday evening, which will feature performances from Rita Ora and No Doubt, as well as one more act being given the boot.
