X Factor 2012 live shows: We rate and slate the Halloween performances!

Chris Maloney (X Factor 2012)

The X Factor 2012 live shows continued last night on ITV1, and here's what we thought!

The remaining eleven contestants took to the stage to perform club classics, and it was a bit of a disappointing night all round.

Kye Sones
Dull Kye isn't going to win the show, and it seems the producers know it. Sent out to warm us up and open the show, Kye was once again hitting bum notes and despite jumping through the audience, it couldn't overcome the lack of any real stage presence. Yes, we're actually agreeing with Louis Walsh.

Chris Maloney
Tulisa and Gary's tiff made us completely forget about Chris' performance, probably for the best.

Jahmene Douglas
Jahmene was once again the stand out star of the night, but we can't help but get a tad annoyed by his 'over singing' for tracks. It'll be nice to see Jahmene just sing the note in future rather than show off with vocal acrobatics.

Jade Ellis
Jade certainly looked hot but her vocals were anything but. She seemed uncomfortable with her dance routine (of sorts) and it certainly impacted the singing. With Ella Henderson and Lucy Spraggan in her category, Jade's in danger of being overshadowed.

James Arthur
Another fine vocal performance from James but we can't help but be reminded of Rebecca Ferguson's epic performance of the same track for Halloween last year. Hers was certainly a lot more comfortable to watch.

Union J
Pleasant, nice, safe. A pretty cliche X Factor boy group performance, but with Louis Walsh as their mentor it's no surprise. Their teenage fans will be sure to keep them out of the bottom two for a while yet.

Rylan Clark
It's all getting a bit predictable now. Outrageous outfit, check. Outrageous hair and make up, check. Outrageous song choice, check. Pointless medley of tracks, check. Apparently this is entertainment, but it's far safer than Union J's performance.

District3
Another pointless medley (NOT MASH UP) from the boys. A combination of tracks that really didn't make much sense and only show up flaws in the group's vocals. They're definitely in danger this week.

Ella Henderson
Tonight Ella was a bit weak, not helped by a badly arranged song choice. She's sure to stay in the competition, but it's perhaps a wake up call for Ella to make sure not to try and twist songs too much from their original versions. We're still waiting to see some original songs on the live shows from Ella.
