X Factor star Christopher Maloney has admitted he's had one of the toughest weeks in the competition.
The Liverpool singer has been plagued by tabloid reports, claims that boss Simon Cowell wants him out and bitching from axed contestants MK1.
As well as that, Chris went back to Liverpool in the middle of the week due to personal problems.
Chris told the Liverpool Echo: “I’ve had a difficult week really. One of my best friends had a miscarriage, my nan hasn’t been well and all this diva stuff is still going on in the papers.
“It’s so hard to keep my spirits high. I feel really down but I’m trying to keep my focus.”
Discussing claims that X Factor boss Simon was keen for Chris to be eliminated from the competition, Chris insisted: “I don’t think Simon said anything like that. I don’t think he’s got it in for Gary. It’s still Simon’s show so I don’t think he’d do anything detrimental.”
But Chris said he was hurt by comments from MK1, branding him a diva.
He told the newspaper: “The hardest thing was those comments because I was friends with them and we went for coffees.
“It’s just hard to deal with at the moment but I don’t want to let Gary down. He’s told me to just keep doing what I’m doing.”
