X Factor favourite Ella Henderson has she is looking forward to performing her own songs on the show.
This weekend will see Ella perform another cover, meaning we've yet to see more of her own writing since her first audition show.
But Ella insisted: “I’d absolutely love to do one of my own songs on the show."
She explained: “It’s just a matter of choosing one to match each theme, but there’s nothing to stop me doing one of my own songs.”
The 16-year-old had wowed the judges with her original song Missed at her first audition, and confessed: “I thought ‘Oh my god this is such a big risk I’m taking right now’, but it was a once in a lifetime opportunity so I just did it.”
Speaking backstage at rehearsals last week, Ella revealed that not all of her tracks were soppy ballads.
She said: “Some of it’s really stupid, funny songs…
“But the serious stuff that I write – the stuff that flows out of me – is when I’m feeling really strong emotion.
“But that song [Missed] came out of me really easily, and it wasn’t even just about my granddad…
“I was thinking a lot of things at the time, and it just sort of popped into my head.”
The X Factor continues tonight with the latest results show, which will feature performances from Fun. and Robbie Williams, as well as one more act being given the boot.
