X Factor 2012: Union J overtake Lucy Spraggan on Twitter!

Union J (X Factor 2012)

Union J have overtaken Lucy Spraggan to take a commanding lead over their X Factor 2012 rivals in the twitter follower stakes.

Union J only formed at judges' houses, but have amassed a huge amount of 420,000 followers in just a few weeks.

The boys - made up of trio Triple J and soloist George Shelley - now have the biggest follower count of all the remaining finalists.

The group have now overtaken Lucy Spraggan, with close to 100,000 more followers than the guitar playing 21-year-old who had previously topped the list.

Union J have already gained a big online fanbase, who have also been camping outside the show's Wembley studios this week in a bid to catch a glimpse of the boys.

Following Union J and Lucy is James Arthur with over 300,000 followers, having overtaken favourite to win Ella Henderson, who has 290,000.

Union J's boy band rivals District3 have less than half the amount of followers, with 208,000 so far.

Melanie Masson, Carolynne Poole and MK1 all had few followers before they lost out, and if that trend continues it'll be Christopher Maloney out this weekend.

The Liverpool singer has avoided the bottom two so far, but is the only act with fewer than 100,000 followers on Twitter.

Also in danger going into the fourth live shows are Kye Sones (145,000 followers) and Jade Ellis (105,000).
