X Factor James Arthur has admitted he was influenced by a YouTube cover of Sexy And I Know It when he performed his song on Saturday night.
James wowed the judges at the weekend with his take on the LMFAO or, as Louis put it, LMFO, track for club classics week.
But some viewers pointed out the similarities between James 'unique' take on the track with those in a cover on YouTube by a user called Noah.
The online cover has had over 13 million hits, so it's not exactly the best choice of song to copy.
And this evening James admitted on Twitter: "Btw doesn't everyone know I was putting a spin on Noah's version? It had 13.something million hits!"
He added: "Was I supposed to state the obvious?"
However despite the original take on the track not being his idea, James was happy to take the raving comments from the judges about it.
Gary Barlow said: "You turned that song on it’s head. It’s a silly dance song but you gave those lyrics meaning tonight."
And he gushed: "This wasn’t the performance of the night, it was the performance of the series so far."
Louis Walsh added: "James Arthur, what a brilliant interpretation. You are a real professional, you had a tough week but when you get on that stage you own it."
[cat c="the x factor"]The X Factor 2012[/cat] continues this Saturday night with a spooky Halloween themed episode as the remaining ten contestants perform live once again.
The latest results show follows on Sunday, which will feature performances from Fun. and Robbie Williams, as well as one more act being given the boot.
