X Factor gossip: Louis Walsh predicts Union J, District3 rivalry

District3 (X Factor 2012)

Louis Walsh has predicted rivalry between Union J and District3, now that MK1 have gone.

Last night Louis lost his first act after the duo were given the axe in Sunday's live show.

MK1 were eliminated last night in the latest X Factor 2012 results show, after being in the bottom two with Kye Sones.

The judges once again failed to decide who to to send home in the sing off and opted to send the vote to deadlock, where it was revealed that MK1 had received the fewest votes.

“I think there will be a lot of rivalry between the two bands and I think that girls should vote for both of them," Louis said.

Speaking on Xtra Factor, Louis refused to comment on which of the groups had the bigger fanbase, but added: "I think there are fans for both bands out there. I think there is room for both of them.”

He added: "District3 turned a corner last night.”

After their time in the bottom two last weekend, District3 said it felt good to avoid the axe.

They said on the ITV2 spin-off show: "It felt good to be saved, it was horrible watching the sing off and being on the other side.

"It's so tough to see MK1 go. It's horrible, the other night we went out with dinner to them, we've grown really close. It's bittersweet."

Union J meanwhile revealed they were growing tired of comparisons to One Direction.

They said: "We get compared to One Direction which is amazing because they're incredible, but we don't want to keep getting more comparisons as we want to put our own stamp on things, we want to focus on being us."

The X Factor 2012 continues next Saturday night with a spooky Halloween themed episode as the remaining ten contestants perform live once again.

The latest results show follows on Sunday when one more act will be given the boot.
