MK1 have admitted they were confident after their performance on The X Factor last night.
Speaking to Dermot O'Leary after their exit, the pair said: "We had the best time and thank you to everyone that did vote.
"We will keep going, we came into this not expecting anything big.”
Speaking later on Xtra Factor, Charlie and Sim confessed: “We can’t really believe it, we thought we gave everything last night to that performance. We were confident that it could have been enough but such is life, you have to keep on going.
"We had the best experience and that’s been enough for us.”
Talking to Xtra Factor hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, MK1's mentor Louis Walsh said: "I'm sad because I really got to like Charlie and Sim. I want them to get a record deal.
"They picked the songs, it was all about hem last night and I'm really sad I had to lose them."
The result was good news for Gary Barlow however, who narrowly missed out on losing a third act in as many weeks.
The X Factor 2012 continues next Saturday night with a spooky Halloween themed episode as the remaining ten contestants perform live once again.
The latest results show follows on Sunday when one more act will be given the boot.
