X Factor star James Arthur told last night how he feared he was dying when he was having a panic attack.
Medics were called to the X Factor studios last Saturday night after James' performance on the second live show.
Speaking on last night's latest installment, James said: “I thought I was going to die. I really thought I was going to die.
“I had some pains ruffling through my arms and chest. I thought it was a heart attack. Saturday was really overwhelming."
He explained: “I was properly freaking out so they had to ring an ambulance.
“When I described all the symptoms I think they came to the conclusion that it was an anxiety attack and that they just needed to calm me down for half an hour and let me get back in the room.”
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, a show source said that backstage staff were all right behind James on the programme.
The insider told the tabloid: “He’s one of the most talented people on the show. James had a really, really tough week but is doing everything he can to make sure that he is giving himself the best chance at being able to stay in the competition and get as far as he can.
“All of the staff are rooting for him. He is a great guy and a terrific performer.
