X Factor 2012 judges: Nicole Scherzinger worries about James Arthur

X Factor UK Nicole Scherzinger has admitted that she worries about James Arthur, after his panic attack last weekend.

Medics were called to the studios in Wembley to help James, who became ill after his performance on the live shows.

Fortunately they were able to deal with James backstage without the need to go to hospital, but such problems just two shows in have left Nicole unsure about how her acts are coping with the pressure.

"People watch it on TV but they don't realise what goes on behind the scenes and how much pressure they are under," the former Pussycat Doll singer told the Daily Mirror today.

She explained to the newspaper: "This is what happens when you are thrown into an environment you are not used to. You are working every day non stop. He is around new people, getting your glasses taken away from you, spray-tanned, haircut it is a completely different world for him.

"He is one of those artists that wears his heart on his sleeve and this is a lot for him and the result of that is his panic attack.

"It was very scary for me as his mentor because I want to protect him and take care of him. I have spoken to him since then and asked what he wants from me and what we can do to prevent it happening again."

James bounced back this week, performing his own take on LMFAO's Sexy And I Know It for the judges, to huge praise.

Nicole hoped it was a sign that James was back on track, saying: "I think hopefully he will just get stronger from what happened because I said 'look James this is only week two'. I think it is hard for him to have to deal with people going home and the thought of him leaving. He puts everything into it.

"I said you can't risk losing yourself, he has already gone so deep."
