Gary Barlow has claimed that Union J have been winning the boy band battle between the two groups, but the boys said they were all best pals.
District3's Dan explained to Sugarscape: "Everyone keeps saying there’s rivalry between us, but there’s nothing, we’re just friends, all of us get along so well there’s never been any competition, like ‘Oh god, they’re doing this...’"
Greg added: “The only connection people make is that we’re boybands, but our styles are different.
"If you take it out the context competition we’re just a group of teenage lads, outside of this there’d be no reason why we wouldn’t get on, so to us it’s no difference.
George's Union J meanwhile said: “I think it’s healthy competition, both of the boybands really love it, being able to bounce off of each other.
“It makes us work harder each week knowing there’s really tight competition which I think is a good thing.”
However the group did admit there were some arguments every now and then, but they had little to do with songs or the show at all.
“The only thing we argue about is the games of FIFA we play,” District3 said. “They’re better."
The X Factor 2012 continues next Saturday night with a spooky Halloween themed episode as the remaining ten contestants perform live once again.
The latest results show follows on Sunday when one more act will be given the boot.
