TOWIE producers want X Factor's Rylan Clark for new series?

Rylan Clark (X Factor 2012)

TOWIE producers are reportedly after X Factor star Rylan Clark for the new series.

The ITV2 show is currently on air, but will soon be taking a break before returning in the new year.

Rylan, who previously was lined up to appear in the first series two years ago, has caught the attention of the show's team once again.

According to Look magazine, TOWIE bosses reckon Rylan could be "the next Mark Wright."

A source said: "He's much better suited to TOWIE than the x factor.

"He is - in the nicest possible way and a total drama queen and TOWIE is obviously his spiritual home. He doesn't' seem to like being the joke actor on the x factor."

The insider added: "TOWIE is Rylan's chance to get the public on his side."

Rylan previously revealed how he had originally been offered a spot in TOWIE’s first series, but turned it down to focus on his singing.

He said: “I’m pleased I didn’t do it. As much as people look at me and think ‘Oh, he’s there having a laugh’, I’m serious about singing.”

The latest results show follows on Sunday, which will feature performances from Fun. and Robbie Williams, as well as one more act being given the boot.

The Only Way Is Essex airs on ITV2 tonight.
