Former TOWIE star Amy Childs has defended Rylan Clark, saying the 23-year-old is a "star".
Writing in her new! magazine column, Amy said that some of the abuse and death threats aimed at Rylan were "disgusting".
She wrote: "I've been shocked to read some of the abuse my friend and x factor contestant Rylan Clark has been getting.
"Some people have even sent death threats, which is disgusting."
She added: "He never said he was the strongest singer, but I think he's still a star."
Speaking to the Halstead Gazette recently, Rylan hit back at the haters.
“I am getting a lot of stick, but you know what, bring it on because I’m doing what I want to do and i’m loving it," he said.
Rylan explained: “I really enjoyed myself on Saturday. I was really nervous in the first week but this week, I just thought I’m going to enjoy it. Why waste it?
“At the end of the day, I’ve worked liked every other contestant to where we are. People don’t realise how much work goes in.”
