X Factor judge Gary Barlow has admitted he's bemused why Melanie Masson was eliminated from the show last night.
Melanie performed Never Tear Us Apart by Paloma Faith, but received the fewest votes on Sunday night's result's show.
Gary Barlow, who has now lost two acts in two weeks,e posted a message online after the show asking: "What's happening out there?"
Speaking after her elimination, Melanie said: “I’m fine, thank you for all the people who have picked up the phone to vote for me, it’s such a tough competition.
“Everyone’s so amazing. This a brilliant line up of talent. That’s the rules, we know we could leave at any time, it’s worth it to be part of it.”
A “gutted” Gary said: “For me Melanie is one of the best singers in the competition, I am so disappointed.”
Talking on Xtra Factor, Gary admitted he was in shock of the result.
He told Olly Murs and Caroline Flack on the ITV2 spin off series: “Tonight was a shock… I couldn’t believe it.
“Melanie has had a geeat week. I’m just really disappointed for her. She’s waited so long, I’m so sad she’s gone so early.”
