Chris Maloney has cleared up just what went on between him and X Factor judge Louis Walsh, after the Irish music mogul branded him a diva.
Speaking on the Xtra Factor at the weekend, the judges were quizzed on who was the biggest trouble maker behind the scenes.
“No, Rylan is not a diva at all backstage,” Louis said. “I think Chris from Liverpool is a bit of a diva. That’s what I’m hearing.”
Gary was quick to try and shut Louis up, saying: “Guys, we got into backstage gossip last year and it got us into a lot of trouble, so let’s not go there again.”
Also speaking on the Xtra Factor on Sunday night, Chris hit back at the comments, claiming they were “tactical”.
He told Olly Murs and Caroline Flack: “I think it is tactical. To be honest with you Louis only sees me when I’m on stage. You know how hard I work behind the scenes and stuff so I think it’s very tactical.”
He added: “Swear down, honest to God. Take no notice of what Louis’ saying, because he’s got it in for me one way or another!
“He has said a few negative things.”
Speaking on This Morning earlier today, Chris cleared up the pair's clash.
He said: "I spoke to Louis afterwards and I just said to him ‘why did you say it?’. He said ‘Christopher you were the first person that popped into my head.’ ”
He added: "I love the guy.”
The X Factor 2012 continues on Saturday night on ITV1.
This weekend will see the remaining contestants singing tracks with a love and heartbreak theme before the public vote once again, and one more act is eliminated on Sunday night's second results show.
Sunday's show will also feature performances from US country star Taylor Swift and former X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson.
