X Factor's Kye Sones has revealed he hopes to sing his own tracks on the live shows soon.
We caught up with Kye and Melanie from the Overs this week, along with Gary himself.
Kye, a chimney sweep by day, teased this week he would be doing something "edgier" than his take on Michael Jackson's Man in the Mirror.
He told us yesterday: "I’ve reworked the song and I’m looking forward to seeing if everyone likes it.”
Kye teased: “I played it on the piano for Gary, and he told me to go for it. That’s the best thing about Gary, if you come up with an idea yourself, he’s really supportive.”
Kye also revealed he was hoping to perform some of his own tracks later on in the series, but wasn't worried about performing covers for now.
“There will be a point when I want to sing my own songs, but not right now," he said. “I’m enjoying playing around with covers and stuff at the minute.”
The X Factor 2012 continues on Saturday night on ITV1.
This weekend will see the remaining contestants singing tracks with a love and heartbreak theme before the public vote once again, and one more act is eliminated on Sunday night's second results show.
Sunday's show will also feature performances from US country star Taylor Swift and former X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson.
