X Factor star Lucy Spraggan has stepped out of rehearsals for this week's second live show after the death of her gran.
20-year-old Lucy has travelled back to her family after the unfortunate passing of her grandmother Marjorie Spraggan, who died on Sunday night.
"My nanny was a great woman and she and grandad were together for more than 50 years so I really want to be around to support him and my family at this time," Lucy told The Sun today. “My grandad is an amazingly strong and kind man and they loved each other very much.
"She’s at peace now and that’s comforting to know.
“She was so proud to see me singing and I’m glad I made her smile. She’ll be greatly missed.”
A show source added to the newspaper: “We are giving Lucy as much time at home with the family as she needs at this sad time.”
This weekend will see the acts performing songs with a love and heartbreak theme, and it'll no doubt be an emotional show for Lucy.
The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday night on ITV1, with the results show following on Sunday night with performances from Taylor Swift and Rebecca Ferguson.
