Xtra Factor host Olly Murs has defended Rylan Clark from Twitter abuse.
23-year-old Rylan has found himself the victim of yet more death threats from online trolls after a controversial reuslts show on Sunday night.
Rylan was in the bottom two alongside Carolynne Poole, but was saved after Louis Walsh decided to send the decision to deadlock.
But Olly insisted: "He's a great guy. He's having a bit of trouble at the moment with people tweeting and being abusive," Murs told The Sun.
"It's a shame really because I think he's really improved on the show and proven he's not just a gimmick act and he's a really nice guy. He's a top lad so I think he will do well."
Speaking to The Sun, Olly admitted that even he has been the victim of nasty messages, and they do get to him.
He added: "I think artists will lie and turn around and say, no it doesn't affect me, but I'm sure it does. I mean nobody likes to read a tweet about them on the internet, that's horrible, and it's not what you want to see you know, but that's part and parcel of the industry unfortunately.
"You are going to see tweets, you are going to see people give you abuse, but you just have to rise above it. It's just one of those things unfortunately - it's there, it's in black and white, you can see what they've written about you and it's not nice. "
The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday night on ITV1, with the results show following on Sunday night with performances from Taylor Swift and Rebecca Ferguson.
