Over 11 million people watched Carolynne Poole's shock exit from The X Factor 2012 last night.
Last night saw the first X Factor results, after all the finalists had performed for the first time on Saturday night.
Rylan Clark and Carolynne were in the bottom two, with the judges deciding to send the result to a deadlock, which saw Carolynne leave.
An average audience of 9.6 million viewers, including those watching on ITV1+1 tuned in for the first results show, which also featured performances from former X Factor champ Leona Lewis and Ne-Yo.
The viewers were up 500,000 on yesterday's show and the highest of the series so far, up 100,000 on last Sunday's current series high.
But the numbers were still well down on last year's equivalent episode, by well over a million viewers.
And no doubt that the surprise result will only increase that decline next week.
The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday night on ITV1, with the results show following on Sunday night with performances from Taylor Swift and Rebecca Ferguson.
