Carolynne Poole has apologised for letting her fans down on The X Factor 2012.

Last night saw the first X Factor results, after all the finalists had performed for the first time on Saturday night.

Rylan Clark and Carolynne were in the bottom two, with the judges deciding to send the result to a deadlock, which saw Carolynne leave.

The controversial decision saw Gary Barlow storm out, while Carolynne was left in tears.

She tweeted after the show to her followers: "Sorry for letting u all down x"

Meanwhile Nicole Scherzinger took to Twitter to add: “My heart goes out to @CarolynnePoole”

She later tweeted: “So proud of @RylanClark let’s show him love and support #teamNicole #thexfactor”

“I am absolutely gutted for Carolynne.”

Speaking after the result was announced, Rylan admitted ht too was surprised by the result.

“I genuinely thought I was going home, I can’t even speak," he said on Xtra Factor. "It’s judges houses again. I just went out on stage and my voice completely went.

“I was expecting to be in the bottom two. I was totally prepared for it and then, when I was stood there I was like ‘oh my God, I am going to miss everyone.’”

The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday night on ITV1, with the results show following on Sunday night with performances from Taylor Swift and Rebecca Ferguson.
