The Sun claims that the pair hooked up after the other contestants dared them to kiss each other in their hotel, after weeks of flirting.
Now Ella is said to be 'smitten' with her new beau, so much so that they're spending all their time together and constantly exchanging text messages.
The newspaper's source commented: "It’s such a cute romance — they’re playing it down but they’re absolutely inseparable.
"They are holding hands when they think no one is looking and since they were dared to kiss, they haven’t been apart."
Ella is the current favourite to win the series, and was one of the stand-out performers in Saturday's live show.
Her rendition of Take That's 'Rule The World' prompted Gary Barlow to rave: "I’ve got to be honest, there is nothing worse than someone singing my song ten times better than me."
Union J fared worse, with Gary criticising their mentor Louis Walsh for 'destroying their night' by giving them a 'dated' take on Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now'. Tulisa wasn't impressed either, adding: "The vocals were missing."
George is still settling in to the band - formerly Triple J - after joining them just before their judges' houses reprieve.
