The X Factor 2012 live shows could see guest judges including Simon Cowell appear on the show, it has been claimed.
According to the Daily Star Sunday, show bosses are keen to refresh the live shows and add a fifth guest judge each week.
The newspaper reports that Take That star Robbie Williams is being lined up to join the panel, with Simon Cowell also set to make a return to the show for the live final in December.
Robbie is said to be "in talks" to appear as a guest judge next month, as well as performing his new single Candy.
An X Factor source told the newspaper: “The idea is to get the famous acts more involved in the show and the decision making.
“They would be there to give their opinion as unbiased judges without having a vested interest in any of the acts.
“Others being approached include Bruno Mars, Pink and Gwen Stefani.”
The newspaper adds that Simon Cowell is also set to make a dramatic return for the live final in December, giving his views on the finalists' performances and the judges' mentoring.
The supposed X Factor insider added: “Producers know that having him criticising and judging the other judges would be TV gold.”
The X Factor 2012 live shows continue tonight on ITV1 at 8PM with the first results show, featuring performances from Ne-Yo and Leona Lewis.
