The duo received a mix response from the judges tonight after their first live performance, singing Champion by Chipmunk and Chris Brown.
Gary Barlow told the pair after they had sung: "Charlie, I have heard you sing better than that. It’s this relationship I find really funny, you and Louis, Louis which part of that was your idea?"
And the comments seem to have put MK1 on course to become the first evictees of the X Factor 2012, with the bookies making the pair the favourites to leave in tomorrow night's first results show.
But quizzed by last year's winners Little Mix on the Xtra Factor tonight, Tulisa claimed there was lots of support for the duo.
She said: “I think Jahmene is a very strong contender for now but I think the dark horses could be MK1.”
Meanwhile Louis Walsh insisted that the duo were "very happy" with him as their mentor.
The Irish music mogul, who took a bit of battering with his groups this evening, said: "I picked them because I like their music, I like what they do.
"They are current, they’re fun. I like them, I love Charlie's voice as well.”
The X Factor 2012 live shows continue tomorrow night on ITV1 at 8PM with the first results show, featuring performances from Ne-Yo and Leona Lewis.
