Louis Walsh took a swipe at Christopher Maloney's cruise ship past on the X Factor live shows tonight.
Chris won the wildcard spot earlier tonight after topping the public vote, and performed a cover of Mariah Carey's Hero on the first live show.
The cheesy performance was met with criticism from the panel, with Gary Barlow insisting that they weren't able to select the song choice.
Commenting on the performance, Nicole said: "Christopher who was that up there? I don’t recognise you.
"You’ve got rid of your nerves and you have a great big voice in you. You need some burger with your cheese, sometimes it was cheesy, a little bit cheesy. But it was uplifting and I know you meant every word."
Louis Walsh then commented: "You seem to have got a new colour, were you on a cruise ship recently?", referring to recent tabloid reports about Chris' cruise ship performing past.
One of Chris' former bosses had told The Sun recently: "Mollie, who manages Peel Entertainment which provides show teams for cruise ships, said: “I was astonished when I listened to all these claims by Chris to Gary Barlow that no one had given him a chance.
“That was so disingenuous of him. He came to us in 2000 after spotting our advert in The Stage. He had a big voice which was a bit rough around the edges, but we knew we had to have him. And we gave him months of vocal coaching. It’s strange that he says he was so nervous, because he didn’t show a hint of nerves when he was on stage with us."
After Louis' comment, Tulisa quipped: "That was below the belt, Louis."
The X Factor 2012 live shows continue tomorrow night on ITV1 at 8PM with the first results show, featuring performances from Ne-Yo and Leona Lewis.
