X Factor 2012: Carolynne Poole laughs off 'MILF' tag

Carolynne Poole (X Factor 2012)

Carolynne Poole has laughed off the 'MILF' tag she has been given by some X Factor fans.

The country singer impressed the judges on last night's first live show with a very unique take on Starships by Nicki Minaj.

Speaking about the reaction from her thousands of followers on Twitter, Carolynne said: "Some people are quite cheeky on Twitter, some people call me a MILF although I'm not a mum.

"It's like 'Oh, she's alright and older!', I'm like, I'm not almost dead! Just because I'm in the overs category doesn't mean I'm on my way out."

Carolynne has made it through to the live shows after being rejected in the past on the show, and said she wants it more than anyone else.

"I've been trying to do this for as long as Ella has been alive," she said. "You've just got to keep on knocking on those doors and one day, one will open."

Fellow Overs contestant Melanie Masson meanwhile said of her experience: "It's amazing, its just been so exciting, it's been full on, we've not stopped.

"Gaz Maz rocks, I haven't had to call him at 4am in the morning yet!"

The X Factor 2012 live shows continue tonight on ITV1 at 8PM with the first results show, featuring performances from Ne-Yo and Leona Lewis.
