X Factor 2012 judge Tulisa has branded taking part in the live shows as "distressing and nerve-wracking".
Speaking ahead of Saturday's first performance show, Tulisa admitted that the finals were not exciting for the judges and contestants as is often made out.
She told DigitalSpy this week: "I'm ready for it. I can handle it. I wouldn't classify it as exciting. It's exciting as a viewer, but it's distressing and nerve-wracking as a judge and a contestant.
"I'm sure everyone will have a lot of fun at our expense."
Revealing her work with the girls before the first show, Tulisa said: "There is no preparing, just telling them to let it go over your head and focus on what you do.
"It's the song and performance that's important and I can't prepare them for that. their talent is their talent.
"As long as they have the right song choice and feel comfortable singing about it, that's preparation, it's a singing contestant at the end of the day."
On her 'tactics', Tulisa added: "So I think the biggest input that I have as a judge, my tactics are always to say, 'Are you comfortable?' From whether it's their song choice to the make-up they have on to what they're wearing - if they're not happy, they're not going to look happy and the audience are going to know that."
