One Direction could miss UK number one, thanks to Rhianna!

One Direction tour

Despite apparently being the biggest group in the world, One Direction are on course to miss out on Number one this weekend.

The group released their new single Live While You're Young at the weekend, but it's so far only managed to reach number three in the UK charts.

The song is sitting behind internet sensation Gangnam Style by PSY, while Rhianna's new track Diamonds is sitting at number one.

It's the second time that the boys have been beaten by Rhianna, with the R&B star having previously stopped the group getting a number one album last year.

Fortunately for One Direction, huge pre-orders for the track and physical versions copies have helped the track outsell Rhianna in the first set of midweeks.

But with just 6,000 units between the two, and still five days' worth of sales to go, it's going to be close this Sunday.

It's a different story in the US however, where the track has shot straight to the number one spot, ahead of Taylor Swift and Ke$ha's new song.

The boys are set to perform the song on The X Factor 2012 live shows later this year.
