X Factor 2012 judge Gary Barlow has hit out at the makeovers given to the contestants on the show.
This year the group haven't been changed too drastically, with Gary admitting: "The makeovers were something I hated, I thought they looked worse when they had a makeover last year.”
He revealed on ITV1 this morning: “I have really insisted to not do the makeover thing, especially with my guys.
"These people know where they’re going, they know the lane they are in musically and how they want to look. They don’t need a makeover."
He quipped: "It’s me that needs the makeover!”
Gary's contestant Melanie Masson was quick to reveal she had warned off of the show's team when it came to preparing her for the live shows.
“They aren’t touching the hair. That’s my whole identity. I’m like Samson. If they cut my hair off I’d collapse," she said.
“We are all really glad that we got Gary, because he is giving us all this advice and we’re just soaking it up like a sponge," the hunky chimney sweep said. "It’s like nothing I’ve ever done before, it’s a whole new experience.”
He added: “To work with Gary has been such a new experience, it’s like nothing I’ve ever done before. It’s been ten times better than I imagined, everything has been so nice.”
