X Factor 2012: Rylan Clark says show 'not always about the voice'

Rylan Clark (X Factor 2012)

X Factor 2012 finalist Rylan Clark has insisted that the show is not all about the voice.

The 23-year-old from Essex made the final 12 last night in the boys category, after Nicole picked him, James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas for the live shows.

Speaking on making the finals, Rylan said: My vocals are improving week by week but it’s not always about the voice. I’m a performer – and Saturday nights will never be the same again.”

And gay Rylan joked that Nicole almost turned him! “She’s the most stunning woman I’ve met. I questioned my sexuality.”

Meanwhile early favourite Lucy Spraggan said of making the final 12: "Every step of this process has been so overwhelming for me. Now I just can’t wait to show people what I can do on a live platform.”

Going into the live shows however it's 16-year-old Ella Henderson who is tipped to win after wowing time and time again at all of her auditions.

She says: "I have a lot to give and I’m fully dedicated to my music. I know by doing this show I’m going to grow as a performer and my confidence will build.”

And newly formed group Union J added: "We’re so happy to be a four-piece. The group feels so right together – it feels like we’ve been together for years.”
