The first episode of The X Factor 2012 judges' houses failed to bring back viewers last night.
An average audience of 8.2 million watched between 8PM and 9:40PM as all of the final 25 contestants performed for a spot in the final.
It was up slightly on last week's first bootcamp episode figures of 7.9 million, but still millions of viewers down on last year's series.
Even the return of Cheryl Cole didn't help boost figures, with a peak audience of 9.2 million tuning in last night.
Viewers catching up on ITV1+1 boosted the average to 8.7 million, and the peak to 9.7 million.
The X Factor 2012 continues tonight as the final 24 are revealed.
