X Factor 2012: Melanie Masson: 'Not making live shows would be devastating'

Melanie Masson (X Factor 2012)

Melanie Masson has said that the thought of not making the X Factor 2012 live shows is devastating.

We saw Melanie performing Everytime You Go Away by Paul Young for Gary Barlow and Cheryl Cole on last night's, in her final audition.

It's now just a waiting game for Melanie as Gary makes his decision and reveals which three acts he's taking through to the live shows.

"I'd be devastated not to make it to the live shows," the 44-year-old admitted. "But I've loved every second of it so far, and so have my kids."

Meanwhile James Arthur said he hoped to "break the mold" if he gets through to the live shows next week.

After singing I Can’t Make You Love Me by Bonnie Raitt for mentor Nicole and her celeb helper Ne-Yo, he also has a long wait.

He explains: "I hit rock bottom a year ago. I was very depressed and had very little self-belief.

"I want to break the mold of a typical pop star. I feel on top of the world, invincible."

The X Factor 2012 airs at 7:40PM on ITV1 tonight.
