X Factor 2012 judges' houses: Overs impress Gary Barlow and Cheryl Cole

Gary meets the overs

Six Overs must become three in the X Factor judges' houses tonight, as the finalists perform for Gary Barlow and Cheryl Cole.

The Take That star and Girls Aloud babe must pick just half of the acts to make it through to the live shows.

Starting things off is Carolynne Poole who sings Say Nothing At All by Ronan Keating.

Gary says: "I think she’s great, she needs a little confidence boost to take her up."

Nicola Marie takes on Tragedy by Steps, followed by Brad Shackleton who sings The Final Countdown by Europe.

Cheryl comments: "I don’t know if he would instantly connect with the public."

Melanie sings Everytime You Go Away by Paul Young.

Cheryl says: "She looks very different to how you think she’s going to sound."

Gary comments: "This is her last chance."

Kye Sones is next up, singing Payphone by Maroon 5.

Cheryl remarks: "He struggled a little with that top note."

But Gary says: "I’m excited about him."

Finally, Chris sings I’m all outta Love by Jagged Edge.

Cheryl comments: "He’s terrified…"

Gary agrees: "Like a rabbit in the headlights. I don’t know if I could get him out on the stage every Saturday night."
