X Factor judge Tulisa has said she feared Simon Cowell would fire her after her sex tape leaked.
A six minute clip featuring Tulisa and former rapper Boyfriend MC Ultra, real name Justin Edwards, surfaced online earlier this year.
Writing in her autobiography, Honest: My Story So Far, Tulisa revealed how the leak impacted her personal life.
“It felt as though there was a massive axe swinging above me head. My job as a judge on The X Factor was to smile and be smart and funny," she said. “But underneath I was petrified of being made to look like some kind of slapper in front of the nation. I would try to put the whole thing out of my mind but it would all creep back – it was pretty much all-consuming.”
She added: “By this time, I’d suffered for months. I was moody and tearful, constantly afraid I’d get fired from The X Factor.”
Speaking about the moment that she was informed about the tape, Tulisa writes: "It was Saturday 17 March, 2012, when my world crashed down around me.
"I was in the car when I got a message on my BlackBerry. I handed the phone to my friend and PA Gareth to see who it was from. The look of horror on his face told me it wasn’t good.
"He said, ‘It’s out, T. It’s out!’ It was the news I had dreaded since taking a call from my publicist the previous August. He said, ‘The Sun says they have seen a sex tape of you’."
Fortunately for Tulisa, Simon Cowell didn't really care, instead hitting out at the person who leaked the tape.
He said at the time: "If I said no (to her coming back) it’s allowing every sleazebag in the country to wreck somebody’s career when she didn’t do something wrong."
