The X Factor 2012 ratings really are up and down this year, with the show shedding more viewers this weekend.
The show hit a series high last Sunday, with over 9 million viewers watching the last audition episode.
But an average audience of 7.9 million viewers tuned in for last night's first bootcamp show, which was 90 minutes long.
It was down 800,000 viewers on last Saturday night's show, but fortunately up on some of the earlier audition episodes, which had slipped to as low as 7.3 million viewers.
The series peaked with 8.8 million viewers as the judges revealed which acts were through to the second day of the challenge.
Including viewers watching on the ITV1+1 catch up channel, the average rose to 8.2 million and the peak climbed to 9.2 million viewers between 8:10PM and 9:40PM.
Tonight will see the bootcamp climax with the reveal with the final 24 contestants in another 90 minute long show between 7:30PM and 9PM on ITV1.
