Tammy Cartwright has spoken to us about her decision to leave The X Factor 2012 tonight.
We saw in this evening's bootcamp show how Tammy had quit the series after walking out of Liverpool's Echo Arena, leaving Hayley Evetts and Nicola-Marie to go it alone in their group.
Tammy had previously wowed the judges during her audition with a powerful performance of One Night Only by Jennifer Hudson.
“Tammy that was a power house performance. You were born to sing,” Louis Walsh said at the time.
And Tulisa added: “I think you are so likeable. You have great stage presence, great song choice and you rocked that stage.”
But Tammy has revealed how she left the show at bootcamp to look after her ill brother, who had become addicted to drugs.
“The main reason I auditioned was for my brother because he has a drug problem, I wanted him to know anything was possible,” Tammy told us this week.
She explained: “Even before I got to bootcamp I started to have reservations about attending, because unfortunately my brother had slipped back into drugs.
“As well as looking after him I was worried if this went any further how every one would perceive him. I wanted him back and wanted him normal. We’re such a happy family apart from this one problem.”
Fortunately, Tammy revealed his brother is now clean and living with her in a new house.
She added: “There’s a good chance I’ll want to try out next year… we’ll have to see!”
