Tammy Cartwright has revealed she's quit The X Factor 2012 to look after her ill brother.
We saw Tammy wow the judges at the weekend, and reveal how her brother had become a drug addict while her mother battled cancer.
"My brother had a lot of issues with something he shouldn’t have been doing which took up a lot of my time," she told the judges. "Then mum had breast cancer so that’s why I haven’t performed in a long while. I sort of made a deal with my brother, he told me to stop preaching about his life and do something with my own. So here I am."
Stunning the panel with a cover of One Night Only by Jennifer Hudson, Tulisa gushed: "I think you are so likeable. You have great stage presence, great song choice and you rocked that stage."
Tammy had four yeses and wen through to bootcamp, but it's now been revealed she has withdrawn to look after her brother Gareth, saying it was “more important to me than fame or money”.
Speaking to The Sun today, Tammy explained: "My younger brother Gareth has been on hard drugs for many years and he’s lived with me for most of those years.
“I made a deal with him — he’d keep off drugs and I would go for it on The X Factor. But he broke his promise just before boot camp. He was in a bad way and having lots of problems.
“I had reservations about going but I went along. When I was in Liverpool I had an anxiety attack and I knew I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t focus on anything. I was worried about how it could all affect Gareth and wanted to support him.
“His well-being is more important to me than fame or money.”
Speaking to the newspaper today, Tammy insisted: "This is not a sob story — I don’t want that, I love my life. Now we have to look forwards, not backwards.
“I’ll definitely give X Factor another go next year."
The X Factor 2012 bootcamp airs next Saturday and Sunday on ITV1.
