An overhaul of The X Factor UK could see Nicole Scherzinger axed, it's been claimed today.
Show bosses are already planning next year's series, and it doesn't sound like there will be good news for the former Pussycat Doll singer.
After failing to hit it off with viewers, X Factor boss Simon Cowell is reportedly after Mel B to replace her.
According to The Sun, an overhaul of the show could also see it starting later in the year in September.
A source explained to the newspaper today: “It maybe airs a little early and people struggle when they might be on holiday or enjoying the sunshine at home."
The guest judges at auditions will also go, replaced by a new permanent judge.
“And the guest judges just don’t work. It’s great for audiences who are watching live but it doesn’t translate well on the telly. People get confused as the line-up’s always changing from song to song," the source added.
This year's series has been the lowest rated for almost five years, with less than 8 million viewers tuning in to last week's show.
Tough competition from the Paralympics hasn't helped, and no doubt producers will be hoping to see figures rise with bootcamp next weekend.
The X Factor 2012 auditions conclude tonight at 8PM on ITV1.
