Cheryl Cole reckons she was haunted by the ghost of Simon Cowell after she returned to The X Factor at the weekend.
The Girls Aloud star joined Gary Barlow at the 16th-century stately Boughton House in Northamptonshire to him his judges' houses section.
Cheryl was flown into the location in secret as a last minute addition to this year's series in a bid to boost ratings.
“It’s a beautiful house and we were lucky to have gorgeous sunny weather all weekend. But I tell you what, as soon as it got dark, it did become quite creepy," Gary Barlow admitted today.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, he explained: "There were parts of the house that went really cold even though it had been hot outside – and there were some pretty weird creaks and groans going on.”
“I didn’t actually see anything but there was definitely a weird atmosphere – the girls felt it more than the boys, maybe they’re more in tune with the paranormal than we are.”
And it was only Gary and Cheryl who were feeling an 'Xtra' presence in the house.
Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack also confessed that she was spooked by ghouls at the stately home, claiming one of them groped her bum!
"I don’t actually believe in ghosts – I’m a real sceptic but I felt something brush past me and there was nobody else in the room," he said. "There is definitely something creepy going on in that house.’
We'll get to see all the action from Gary's judges' houses when they air on ITV1 in just a few weeks' time.
The X Factor 2012 continues this weekend with the final round of auditions before bootcamp airs the week after.
And by October, we'll be ready for the live shows, it's going very fast!
