Serving soldier and 2011 X Factor star, Jonjo Kerr, has just returned from his tour of duty and proving he is still very much in demand, it was announced that he is now scheduled to go into the studio to record his début album.
His manager, our very own Dean 'Midas' Maynard, filled us in on the details.
“We are excited to announce that, Grammy and Ivor Novello award winner, Eliot Kennedy, is going to produce the album, with a release date scheduled for the spring. Kennedy, who is now recognised as an international guru, built up his own reputation whilst working as songwriter and producer for some of the world’s biggest bands, such as the Spice Girls, Take That and Bryan Adams.”
And in another huge twist, Eliot Kennedy announced himself today, that Bryan Adams has shown interest in writing some songs for Jonjo.
"This is a huge but deserved honour for Jonjo and now he is home, it really is just the start of big things to come"
Jonjo Kerr, became a household name following his appearance on the X Factor in 2011. After a nervous first audition, he eventually made it on to the live shows, proving he had the stamina and talent to compete with the best. Along with the other finalists, he had his first number one success, with their version of 'Wishing on a Star'. The proceeds from the single were donated to "Together for Short Lives", the charity helps to ensure that every child and young person unlikely to reach adulthood, and their family, get the best possible care and support whenever and wherever they need it.
Since leaving the show, Jonjo has been a guest vocalist on the Number One Military Wives album, 'In My Dreams' and been back on active duty in Afghanistan.
Military Wives producer, Mr Jon Cohen, who has also remixed tracks for major artists including Adele, George Michael, Leona Lewis and Lady Gaga, had this to say about Jonjo. "I liked him (Jonjo) from the moment we met. He has huge talent but without the ego often associated with an abundance of ability"
The good news, does not stop there though for Jonjo, with other big things already in the pipeline for late 2012.
