X Factor 2012 hopeful Eddy String has revealed he hopes that being on the show will get him more girls!
The 19-year-old – real name Edward Wilkinson won a spot at bootcamp on last night's show with an outrageous performance at auditions in London.
Gary warned the teenager after his performance of The Strokes' hit Last Night: "Gary Barlow said: "The personality thing is on the edge of being annoying, just tone it back a bit... but I thought it was very good."
“I’m not going to be all cocky and tell you I’ve bedded 100 girls – I’ve slept with under 20," Eddy declared today. “It’s always going to go up, isn’t it? I’d hope I get to sleep with more people.
“I’ve never had a famous girlfriend. Caroline Flack is a lovely girl. We’re friends on Facebook and Twitter. I’ve sent her a direct message but she hasn’t got back to me.”
And the singer added: “I can’t tell you who, but I did hit it off with one girl group at boot camp.”
Eddy's audition has already seen some perhaps inevitable comparisons to last year's contestant Frankie Cocozza, and Eddy reckons they are both very similar.
“I get the comparisons. We’ve both got stupid hair, we’re both from Brighton, we’re a similar age and we’re both warm-blooded males," he said in an interview with The Sun today.
Eddy continued: “I don’t think I’m more talented than him. Vocally we’re probably similar and then definitely the stage craft – we’re both charisma over vocals. I just hope I don’t go the way he did on the show. I get a buzz from misbehaving but I’m not attracted to drugs."
Eddy also admitted that he was going to be focusing on his performance as much as his singing, explaining: “Performance is at least as important as the singing. Adele has a brilliant voice but I wouldn’t see her live.”
