An average audience of 7.3 million viewers tuned in to The X Factor last night.
Despite going up against tough competition in the form of the Paralympics closing ceremony, the show stayed steady.
An average audience of 7.28 million watched the latest round of auditions, the first episode of the current series to air on a Sunday.
Viewers on ITV1+1 boosted the numbers to 7.9 million, with a peak of 8.8 million watching.
However it was still a series low, down on Saturday's previous low of 8.2 million (including those on ITV1+1)
But the auditions show was still the most watched programme of the day, with the Paralympics closing ceremony averaging 5.9 million viewers on Channel 4.
