X Factor hopeful Melanie McCabe has said that Kelly Rowland made a mistake in axing her last year.
Last night saw Melanie begin her third attempt at making the live shows, admitting before her latest audition: "I was so excited last year getting to Miami, I’m from a little town where it’s kind of like just unheard of you know? When I was told that I was going home, I was devastated.
"I couldn’t even talk to anyone, I came home and my mum just cuddled me and she told me it was going to be ok and I still can’t watch that Judges Houses episode, it just brings back so many memories."
Performing Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel, Melanie was put through to bootcamp once again.
"Melanie I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to see you back here this year and giving a performance like that, it was extraordinary, well done," Gary told her.
Speaking after her latest try out, Melanie suggested that Kelly should've put her through last year.
She told the Daily Star Sunday: “I think Kelly made a mistake by not putting me through. I felt I had a lot more to prove.
“I didn’t get a big enough chance. I don’t hear from her any more. It’s really good Nicole Scherzinger is on the panel now because she’s so talented and she gives everyone good advice.”
Determined to finally make it through to the live shows, Melanie added: “I’ve practised a lot since last time.
“I’m more confident now. There were loads of people saying I should take the hint and not audition again.
“I shrugged them off because it’s my dream.”
